The law is not sinful, but makes a point if that makes sense. Paul says the law is good but can't hold the power of sin. Some people may be trying to obey the law. But sin keeps drawing them back to doing bad things. When you're weak people tend to blame everything on others and sinning. Jesus can help you if you're weak he is strong!

The Law makes sin visible but it is not sinful the sin is already there the law just makes it visible, as Emma said if that makes any sense. We cannot overcome the law we are a slave to it unless we have faith, faith sets us free!! Jesus overcame the law/death so through faith it is as if we did as Jesus did overcoming the law!!! (if that makes any sense, it made sense in my head). Verse 13 helps with this making sense sin uses the holy law for sin. The Devil attacks from everywhere.
Sin controls us there is nothing we can do about it. That is why we need Jesus so much!!! This is my favorite chapter for all the books we have read it confuses you and makes you think LOVE IT!!

We can serve God by living in the Spirit- does no good to be just followers of the law thats like the old Pharisees and all they could follow the law but they didn't live in the spirit. The law is not the way God judges his standards but it helps reveal our sin and helps bring some of the stuff to light. Sometimes it would be easier to sin less if there was no law because we wouldn't try to break it- it wouldn't be any fun. Once we learn the letter of the law and understand it it brings light to sin. The law doesn't cause us to sin it is still our "own desire which entice us and drag as away (James 1:14)" The trouble isn't the law or his commands its us and trying to obey- we have to first realize that we are the ones to blame and take it upon ourselves. Kind of like an alcoholic have to admit it first because you know how bad it is and then be fixed. Love verse 15--- the "do do verse" and haw applied so many times in my life that I do not want to do the things that i do? Have you guys ever been there? I know what I'm doing is wrong but do it anyways. And then goes on to say its no really me who is sinning but the sin in me?! You guys agree? Chapter is just so great! And i do love God law with all my heart but the power of sin still pulls me away I want to obey Gods law!!

Questions for you incase you didn't catch them above
You guys ever feel like you wind up doing the things that you don't want to do or you know its wrong? Why do I do they things that I don't want to do?
Then do you agree when it say it is not me sinning but the sinful nature in me? If so so why or why not?
(be bold, no wrong answerers!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

That is hard really hard. I think the sinful nature has temptation but we make the decision to sin. In the end we always sin because we do not have a good tolerance for temptation.

Yeah. It's tempting to do the wrong thing because everyone else is doing it. But still do what's right!!!

Good questions.
There is a part of me that does the things that I don't want to do. I know something is not good but yet the sinful desire overtakes my other good motives and i sin.
There seems to be two desire bound up in me (as a Christian), one desire that is pure and wants to follow God and the other sinful desire that wants me to disobey. This chapter seems to discuss that there is a battle in us between those two desires.
I like what everyone put for your responses. I agree with Tanner that this chapter really makes you think but has some really good stuff if you study it.

Thanks for sharing guys it's questions like this that can really help grow and develop our faith. It's tough like Dustin said sometimes I know what I want to do and should but but the evil desires within me wind up winning. I know we are still responsible for our actions can just blame our sinful nature though we have to take it upon ourselves
