Chapter 7 talks about how Jesus walked through Galilee and not Judea because the Jews wanted to kill him. The people at the feast were talking and wondering where Jesus was. Some of the people believed in Jesus and others disliked him. Towards the middle of the feast Jesus went up to the temple and taught. On the last day of the feast Jesus compared himself to the living water. The people started to think that he was the messiah. The religious authorities were unhappy with Jesus. Told their officers to immediately arrest Jesus. The officers were shocked because they have never seen any man preach like Jesus. There was like a separation between the people because of Jesus.

Like Emma gives the summary of the first part I like how they ask him how he knows so much much without training. Is not all the bible school and stuff that he had like others or that we have to have it being in Gods words and trusting him and letting him speak through us. The whole issue of the sabbath brought up a good point and that we sometimes just accept what we want to and if we like it. Can't heal and help a guy but to take care of our own through cicumcised looke beneath the surface and my all the small things just the big things that really affect us. Just loves how he can seeds their thoughts and questions- freaky! And on me thing that always got me and be the first of many more is that they tried to arrest him- but couldn't?! How can you not really arrest one guy? I know it's Jesus and his time hadn't come but how did he always manage to escape? I think there are a lot of people like it says in verse 31- they think God is good and they see what he has done but want more!! We thought he would be bigger better and want him to show us more?! Come one guys!!

Aaron, there seems to be some protection from God for Jesus and how He is not arrested, it mentions something like that in one of the verses. Because you are right, how does no one arrest just one man? He was in the public square teaching and no one grabs Him? Jesus does use some smarts in avoiding certain things and situations. But overall people were probably amazed with Him and were curious on who He was. At this point, it seems like people are all over the board on who Jesus is. Some believe, some don't, some angry, some confused lol.

Some thought that Jesus was a con artist because they did not like the truth. They had no faith in him. Verse 16 is so powerful it's not our power it's God's power that gives us strength through us. Its funny they just so angry at Jesus but they cannot arrest him because he is holy. People at the festival just cannot decide who he is. Jesus was untouchable until his time had come. The pharisees were trying so hard to find something wrong with him because Jesus was kind of "stealing their show" they were jealous.
