Chapter 9 is talking about Jesus healing a man on the sabbath. The disciples of the man ask Jesus why the man was born blind. The disciples ask if it was because of sin. Jesus said it is so gods works can be revealed. Jesus is the light of the world. Jesus makes a paste with spit and dirt rubs it on the mans eyes and Jesus told the man to wash it off in the pool of Siloam. When the man comes back he is able to see again. The man tells how Jesus cured him. The mans parents say feared-the Jews will ban them from the synagogue if anyone acknowledges Jesus as the messiah. Only a man sent from God in heaven can do such miracles as Jesus. Jesus then asks the man that was previously blind if he now believes in the son of God. He replies that he does believe in the son of God. Jesus says he has come into the world to make the blind see. The Pharisees think Jesus is joking and asking if themselves are blind. Jesus then said if they were blind they would not be guilty.

The man was blind so that when Jesus healed him the glory of God was revealed to the public. The Pharisees are so self obsessed they cannot see that Jesus is the true Messiah. Do not try to be one step ahead of everyone never think that you are better than another person. The blind mad understood that Jesus is our Savior.

You know as a read this it just came to me the first time hearing this story. But this can kind of answer why does bad things happen to good people? or why do bad things happen period? Its not because of their sins or parents or whoever else.... why did this happen to someone? well it was so that the power of God could be seen!!!
Even with this- God could have just said- hey "open your eyes, see" but he made him GO!!! which is important because FAITH REQUIRES ACTION! And these Pharisees couldn't even see the good deed and miracle that had been done--- they were only focused about the law and that it was made on the Sabath! COME ON GUYS. Then this wasn't enough we don't believe him still so we need to call in his parents.
Like vs 31- God doesn't listen to sinners, but he is ready to hear those who worship him and do his will!
This man was blinded physically but all the guys were spiritually.

It seems in this chapter the Pharisees have made up in there mind that they don't like Jesus and are not going to believe Him no matter what He does. I find it interesting that even at the end of the chapter the man that can now see is trying to convince them about Jesus and they still don't believe and ends up kicking him out.
Jesus is the Savior of the world and there is evidence of His works and Kingdom all around us, we just have to open our eyes and see it.
