Mary anoints Jesus with this really expensive perfume. Makes a lot of sense after he just raid Lazarus from the dead. Kind of have two thoughts thus far about i thus far. 1) Is that it doesn't matter how much something costs if you feel that it is the right thing to do can't put a price tag on it. 2) Why does it matter how much it cost- for crying out loud Jesus just raised her brother from the dead, I think that a persons life is more valuable than a jar of perfume. Sometimes we need to do the things that are right in front of us- Jesus says you will always have the poor but not always have me.
How much easier would it be today to tell people Jesus is coming? Send out a tweet, post it, text it, snap chat--- would be easy to get the news out........ Well why don't we use some of the mediums to spread the Word of Jesus better and think of the people we can reach. I like that there have been a couple times mentioned that the disciples forgot something or didn't realize the importance till later. You would sort of thing that they know the scriptures and know some of that stuff and make the connection. But think that its like us and that we don't realize the importance and the big picture right away. We see it but don't make the connection to what God was waiting us to do till later.
I heard a neat thing about vs 24 a while back. That like any seed it has a purpose most of the time esp then you could eat it or make something out of it. But you plant it you are "killing" it losing what you have right now but realizing that you have more the possibility of more to gain later when it comes back up again. Sometimes we have to be willing to lose something or risk something for the gain later on.
Great verse to reflect on do you love human praise more than the praise of God (v43)
Trust in him- for this he won't be around much longer and people don't realize what they are missing- the same for us and others we don't know what we are missing out on by being close to God.
