John is talking about being a host or taking people or believes in who are doing the work of God. When we help people we are supporting them and taking action in them. Kind of like supporting a missionary if you help support them then you are kind of involved in their ministry! We don't want to follow a bad influence, maybe people or friends in our lives but follow only what is good! Be supportive of people and that even when problems arise stand firm in love and its okay to be able to confront people just have to do it out of love. We have to be really careful who we follow, we can get in trouble even if we don't do anything but its the crowd we follow. We must be able to pick out good leaders and good examples for us to follow! Im sure like me you all have been there and can be hard but really have to be careful about this don't want to get sucked into something you don't want to do or didn't do but the people around you did. We need good friends and leaders that point back to Jesus!!

In this chapter John refers to his friend Gaius. Gaius is one of his good friends. He is nice and welcoming to the new people that come to the church. He teaches true teachings instead of false ones. He teaches right from wrong. Only true believers know God's way and actually live by it like Gaius. John explains how Gaius was nice to everyone he came acrossed. His teachings were open and honest and showed the people welcoming into the church. Gaius believes as Christians we should grow and work together as a community and have a greater good of the world. John writes a letter to the church. He wrote it specifically to the leader of the church and the man at the church who honored himself above all-they would not welcome others into the world. Some evil people spread rude rumors and untruthful statements to others about welcoming people into the church. He didn't let others into the church or even help him. John told Gaius to only imitate what is good not what is evil. Any person that does good is a person of God. Any person that does bad is an evil wicked person. Those evil wicked people belong to the devil not God. God does not commit evil acts- he sets good examples not bad evil examples. The devil sets those examples and allows temptation to sometimes get in us if we let it.

I feel like if I read your summaries, I already know what the Bible passage is going to day for the day lol. You guys do great summaries.
I agree with all that we should follow good leaders and it is important to have good leaders in our life. I liked the verse where it says that we should immitate what is good and not what is evil. Sinful and fleshly things come about all the time and they look good sometimes but we should only imitate what is good.
