We first see that Cornelius, a Roman Officer, had a vision that calls for Peter. Then too Peter has a strange vision. We have a sort of hard time understanding all this because of the culture we live in and still don't value this. There was still brokenness at the time where the Gentiles hadn't heard that Good News, and this was the first sort of setting. Peter came over and even though it was against what his law said to him, he understood that God doesn't favor it and that the death of Jesus was for everyone. Dont have to be a certain things, eat certain food and all. It was for all and Peter realized this through his vision and visit. Their beliefs and understanding were so strong, it was evident that the Holy Spirit was in them. It doesn't matter who a person is they can be filled with the Holy Spirit. We must be able to recognize this and that the Holy Spirt isn't just for the rich, or Americans, or whites, or for people without tattoos, and all sort of other things that its easy to just put God in the box and we do have this way of what "christians" look like but it can be anything. The Good News is for all and we are to spread it to all. God didn't show any favoritism and neither should we.

In the beginning of this chapter Peter had a vision. In this vision Peter was ordered by God to get up, kill certain animals and eat them. God told him in the vision that what he himself has cleansed is no longer unclean. Peter obeyed and did what God demanded. God did not show favoritism so neither should we. After all of this, he saw Cornelius. When he saw Peter for the first time he fell to his feet seeing Peter for the first time. Peter told him to rise because he was not a man that worshipped God. It was not very normal for Jews like Paul to have Gentiles in their homes and preach the word of God to them. But the reason for this whole vision is because God wanted him to go and spread the word to others that were not Jews.

All those worldly things on the outside do not matter like what we eat or wear. Do not think just because someone had bad decisions in the past they can not change. In this weird way God told us this.
