Just like in the end of the last chapter. Paul and Barnabus are preaching to the Jews and Gentiles. Some of the Jews ganged up against them and spread rumors and lies about them to the Gentiles. The Jews even went to the extent of stoning both of them for preaching. When Paul and Barnabus heard what some of the Jews were doing they went to others cities and continued spreading the word. Paul and Barnabus head to Lystra. While there they see a crippled man. Paul looked at the man and could tell that he had faith and was true to God. Paul told him to rise to his feet and he was healed and began walking. There was a croud of people there. They were debating whether Paul and Barnabus were Greek Gods-well that's ridiculous. But the croud gave all the glory to God for this amazing power of healing. When the Jews found where Paul and Barnabus were now preaching they followed them. They stoned Paul until he died (they thought he died) and took him out of the city. But the disciples stood by Paul and he began and go back to the city he was in. They go back to Antioch and tell everyone about everything God has done through them.

The Jews are again angry that the Apostles are preaching to the Gentiles so they again start telling lies like with Stephan. Paul and Barnabas left when they heard that the Jews wanted to stone them. While in Lystra Paul healed a man so the people that thought that he and Barnabas were Greek gods. I would be scared to tell the crazy Greeks that I was not a God. The Jews convinced the Greeks that Paul and Barnabas were bad and they needed to be killed. Even know Paul was almost stoned to death he did the right thing that would be a scary thing to do.

We see the same thing happen again to Paul and Barnabas as they went around and preached. I really like how my bible uses the word poisoned the minds of the Gentiles against them. This wording is really vivid to me and paints a good picture about what it means and just like the word choose even for todays and how easily people can be poisoned. It starts off slow and maybe don't see the any effects but after awhile it begins to wear on you and then really begin to suffer. The wonderful thing is that they never stopped even when people were upset and wanted to stone them, what did they do they left and went somewhere else and just kept on preaching. This should be us as well and if something happens we just move on and keep living and preaching the Good News. We don't always have to do it by our words but also by our actions that is something we can really do if we take some time and focus on how we live. These sign that they preformed was great- but the people took it the wrong way. They were in an area that believed in the Greek Gods and so when this sign was preformed they were mistaken. So often people focus on the results and not what is actually behind it. These people were lead astray by the actions and didn't take time to actually see that what they were about and that it wasn't them but by the power of God that the guy was headed. They were merely humans just like the rest of the people no different but when we fill our lives with God, he can do great things through us. Some people came in against them and Paul almost died but as deliver gathered around he got back up, a miracle in itself, and kept on going the next day. A great reminder is that we must suffer man hardships to enter the kingdom of heaven.
