Paul talked to his disciples and encouraged them before he left for Macedonia. After he preached there he headed to Greece. He found out that Jews despised him there too, so he headed back to Macedonia. He preached the next day. As he preached a man named Eutychus he fell asleep and as he fell asleep he fell to the floor and died. Paul went outside, took the man in his arms and raised him back from the dead. The next day he left Macedonia. Paul continued traveling. He went to Miletus. When he got there he asked for the older people. Paul told them he has been tracking to different cities and preaching he also said there were many people he plotted against him and despised him in some of the cities where he preached. Paul told everyone that he is on his way to Jerusalem. He said he vision said the Holy Spirit telling him he would be found in prison and face death when he got there. Paul's goal in life was to spread the word of God. He told his followers that they may not see him again. But he wanted them to stay strong and brave. He warned them about the false teachers and not to obey them. Once Paul left he told them to continue spreading the word of God.

Eutychus fell asleep during Paul's speaking for so long. He fell out of a 3 story building that should have killed him but God through Paul saved him. I love verses 23-24 A life is not worth living if it is to please yourself live for God then for others. Paul Leaves the Ephesians and tells them to live for God you can see they had a strong relationship and loved each other.

I think in a way its sort of humorous about the story that the guy falls he goes down says he is alive they all go back upstairs almost like nothing happened and still share a meal and keep talking about God. Like ohhh hey this dude fell.... he is okay.... just died but came back to life..... no big deal... lets keep going.
Such a powerful very in 24. My life is worth nothing to me unless i use it for finish the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus the work of telling others the God news about the wonderful grace of God!!! Really like that verse!

If you think Pastor Mike can talk long, he had nothing on Paul. It says that Paul broke bread with people, so let's say supper time he starts preaching. He is preaching until midnight and some one is so tired they fall out a window in the third story and die. Paul stopped his preaching and revives the guy. Then then break bread again and Paul preaches to daylight. That is at least a 12 hour sermon lol.
But I like what Paul says that he is here to fulfill the race and spreading the Gospel that God had prepared for him. I think that should be my outlook in life too. To complete the race God has specially for me.

Tanner, I agree I don't think I could sit and listen that long, but people did. I wonder how many people would fall asleep (like the guy in the chapter) if Mike preached 12 hours lol. That is just a long time.
