To me the first part basically says- DONT MAKE GOD MAD. You don't know what he could do since he is a jealous God and if you go against him you don't know exactly what will happen. We get a shift in vs 7 from the Lord being jealous to the Lord is good and a strong refuge when trouble comes.
Like 9 as far a sporting type goes and why scheme against the Lord or game plan- it doesn't matter what we would come up with he knows the counter and can take anybody out with 1 blow. We see his anger is against Nineveh here and that there won't be any more children to carry on your name. It says in my bible the the point of nahum, is that one generations revival guarantees nothing for the next. I really like that and found it interesting and was one reason wanted to look at it and what it said. We can't rely on our parents faith or anyone elses it doesn't mean anything to us we have to do it for ourselves and we need to know that for others as well that it doesn't matter where they come from.

Wonderful Aaron, don't make God mad! If we put our faith in God and accept his forgiveness he will be a strong protector against evil. You can not fight against God you are no match there is nothing you can do that will make any difference. The Lord is destroying Nineveh because of its evil.
