I believe we see a couple things here and that Jesus can heal the physical and spiritual as we know. Often times people of the times thought that a lot of the physical illments that happened were due to sins either by them or by family. We see (and know ) that Jesus has the power over all these things. It doesn't matter how bad a person is or what they have done, Jesus associates with all people an can use anybody. Dont be judgmental towards others by what they have done. They too need saved and someone has to be willing to reach out to them. We see some of Jesus and his healings- they are by faith in people reaching out or coming to him. They first did the action that is required and then jesus did his part. We need to be willing like the one woman to reach out, trust jesus that he will take care of us, to do something that is great and for him. I always find it humorous for verse 34- and that why if he was demoned powered would he cast them out? People will try to do whatever they can or say whatever they can to tear you down and put you "equal with something else." to say that you are something your not, but that should be okay and when we search for our true identity.

A lot of great stuff in this chapter. I really liked verses 12 and 13. Where Jesus says he has come for the sinners and not the righteous. For the sick are the one that need a doctor and not healthy. I as a Christian should have the same attitude as Jesus where I want to be about the people who don't know Jesus and reach out to them.
Jesus also forgives our sins. The common theme of this chapter is healing through faith. Jesus healed many people because they had the faith in him that He could. If we believe in him we can be healed from our sin and given eternal life (John 3:16)

I like verse 3, yeah he does think and is God. Why are the Phrases so selfish and jealous. how is healing a paralyzed man a sin I understand that he said that his sins are forgiven but could they not see the man was holy. I wonder if I was a jew what I would do. The Phrases did not understand that in order to give glory to God you have to be humble and make yourself low. I love verse 13. God wants the people that realize that they are sinners and do not deserve grace, he does not want the ones that think they are as great as the one they are following.
I don't understand what Jesus means when he is talking about when he talks about the fasting wine and wineskins?
Have no doubt that Jesus cannot do something do not limit his power. Jesus can heal everything if we just let him. I agree with you Aaron what the Pharisees said in 34 makes no sense.

This is the commentary on that part below, but i have some thoughts too My thoughts are when you fast it is for a sense of renewal and everything to be made right and strong again with God. That is the purpose I believe to get right and to be made strong again or stronger in some aspect than before
John was at this time in prison; his circumstances, his character, and the nature of the message he was sent to deliver, led those who were peculiarly attached to him, to keep frequent fasts. Christ referred them to John's testimony of him, John 3:29. Though there is no doubt that Jesus and his disciples lived in a spare and frugal manner, it would be improper for his disciples to fast while they had the comfort of his presence. When he is with them, all is well. The presence of the sun makes day, and its absence produces night. Our Lord further reminded them of common rules of prudence. It was not usual to take a piece of rough woolen cloth, which had never been prepared, to join to an old garment, for it would not join well with the soft, old garment, but would tear it further, and the rent would be made worse. Nor would men put new wine into old leathern bottles, which were going to decay, and would be liable to burst from the fermenting of the wine; but putting the new wine into strong, new, skin bottles, both would be preserved. Great caution and prudence are necessary, that young converts may not receive gloomy and forbidding ideas of the service of our Lord; but duties are to be urged as they are able to bear them
