We see some doubt creep in from possibly one of the greatest people, John baptized Jesus and know what he was about but here we see that he almost wondering if Jesus was the truth. Doubt is something that can creep up on anyone at anytime. We have to keep focusing on the good things and good things that have been happening and that helps "clear us of doubt" Jesus is saying John is great and has done many things, and that he has spend his time serving before Jesus, he has a serving heart and the wisdom that can only come from God.
We see judgement that is being passed, and its crazy to think of the people that saw what Jesus did up close and personal and in their own town and still didn't come to believe in him. They are are the ones that are going to be judged the unbelievers, the ones still left back in the "dark"
We see Jesus' prayer of thanksgiving here late in the chapter. We having to be willing to have an open heart, open mind and everything to be willing at accept what God has done. As a child they will begin to believe whatever they tell you, trust me I know, and that is they way God wants us as well. Sometimes we get so many prejudgements in everything that we can't truly focus on the truth. We have to be able to know what Jesus said, and by knowing and trusting in Jesus we trust in God, and the other way around. The trinity here and we just take the yoke up of one of them, we just need to be able to come to him when we need things and even if we are feeling over down and all we can come to Jesus and he will make it easy (easier) to bear.
