This chapter is about what not to do and what not to do in a Christian home (v15). Of the instructions what I saw the most of is that we need to take care of our family's and each other (V4,5,12).

Chapter 3 is about obeying you parents, what you should do and what you should not do. Basically said the same thing he did but in different words! for me it was kind of a hard chapter to understand but verse 3:15 stuck out to me.

As this passage talks about the qualifications of what a leader in the church should look like, i think we need to take it a bit further and say almost a leader anywhere. There is no reason we can't uphold these things in other positions of leadership and doing all this will display the Christina qualities. The last states one of our core truths and that the church is a Church of the Living God. He came to us and is within us to help guide us and direct the church (and we as the church)

I think probably for you guys it was the just the context of the chapter and that it may not really apply to you guys and being a leader or deacon in the church

This chapter is about leadership in the church. Leaders are held to a high standard. In our church, we use these verses as guidelines for our leaders in our council, shepards, and deacon groups.
