Again in the first part we see that benediction prayer. Now Paul is saying that you need to make sure what other people are telling lines up with the bible. At the end of that section he also says that if we are trying to please people we are not a servant of Christ. This is because things of this world are God's enemy.
Then Paul is telling about his life and how he did those evil things out of the influence of his ancestors. But when God struck him down he did not consult anyone but was led by God influence. Are you under the influence of other people?

What are vs 3-5 saying? and how does it sum up the Gospel?
Why is Paul writing this letter (v6-7)?
What does v10 mean to you? such a great verse and how can we present the Gospel where it is not pleasing to him(if possible)?
Where did he learn of what he is preaching? any different than us?
Look at Pauls past? does it really matter of who it has made him today? how can we relate to that? how can we view others better based on that information?

vs 3-5 has basically the same meaning as John 3-16. Meaning that Jesus gave his life for us and we should be grateful. Kind of the reason Jesus was sent to earth and the Gospel is all about Jesus.
Paul is writing this letter to tell the Galatians that there is only one Gospel. If anything does not line up with that one and only Gospel it is wrong.
In verse ten Paul is saying that we are not called to please others. Our purpose is to please God. Still be humble and put others above yourself. Most importantly God comes first.
What Paul preaches comes straight from God he is under no human influence. We need to try to be under God's influence.
Paul persecuted christians because they were different. He grew up with Jews who told him that Jesus was not the Messiah. People don't follow the Gospel because it is different than what they where taught. Think if you grew up in a non christian home the Gospel would be hard to believe.

I enjoyed the reading. The one point that stuck out to me was that we should stick to Jesus and his teachings and His gospel or "good news" He teaches us. There will be other people in this world that will tell us other things that will sound pleasing to our ears but if it doesn't line up with Jesus we should ignore it. Paul is warning the church in Galatia to do the same.

It is a very simple message and think that sometimes that is exactly what we need. There is only one "good news" and thats is all we need. We don't know the other stuff that fills our lives and other people telling us what they think and everything. People will always tell you something different and try to sway you right or left. I really loved 10 and its not about what people say and so often times it their opinion that matters when its not the one that should. There is only one thing we need to strive for and that is for the approval of God. The second part is meaningful in that it doesn't matter on a persons past but where their heart is.

Yeah, sometimes we get so caught up in someone's past even if they change. Really we just need to forgive.
