Paul is accepted by the apostles. He says in this chapter that no one will be justified by 'observing the law'. Paul directs us in this chapter to live in Christ. He talks some again about how God does not show favoritism. In the second part of the chapter is about the Jews and the Gentiles having faith in God. (Verses 17-21)

I like verse 15. 15 explains that, is not our faith in the law that saves us it's our faith in Jesus. 21 says that if it were the law that saved us Jesus died for nothing! Paul took Barnabas and Titus with him to preach in Jerusalem. Paul says even though they added nothing to his message he did not judge them. God does not show favoritism.

I agree with what both you said. The Gospel is not just for a select few or just the elite of the faith or only those that grew up in church. It is for everyone and that is what Paul is saying in the first part of chapter 2 about not showing favoritism with the Gospel. It is for the poor, lame, lowly, sinners, rich, and everyone in between.
The one thing that makes Christianity unique when comparing it to any other major world religion is this notion that we are saved by Jesus and His grace and not by works and the law. And that is the point that Paul is reminding the Galatians in verses 19 - 21. The world and other major religions are going to try to pull us toward being saved or valued through works. But we are saved by grace and because of grace, the Gospel can be for everyone and not just the ones that "earn" it.

Verse 19-21 really stuck out to me Galatians 2:21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”

A lot of good discussion from you all!! Yeah I liked the part of what's discussed in vs 11 and following. It kind of goes to what we talked about last Wednesday. How peter first was "hanging out" with the Gentiles but then once his "friends" came along he didn't hang out with them. Was wondering what you guys thought about that and how it was handled! How can you reflect? Thought maybe have a couple of you share next Wednesday on this!! Really like the importance of v20 and what it says!
