At the beginning of chapter 1 it is talking about false teachers (consciences). He 'emphasizes' the correct beliefs. In verses 18-19 "Fight the battle well, holding on to faith and a good conscience." If you reject that you will suffer. Only go by gods word and do not listen to false teachings. Verse 1:15 stuck out to me "Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ came into the world to save sinners-of whom I am the worst."

Yes it talks about the false teachings and how these are meaningless and even can take a look at in our lives at all the things we waste our time talking about (or even waste our time doing). I like v5 and that his purpose of instruction is that all believer would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, clear conscience, and genuine faith. I think that we need to do a self check and see if these are right with us at times. 18-19 are very good and like what you had to say about them and that this can be for us as well. And as you finished sometimes i think we tend to look that we are better than everybody else when in fact it makes things a lot easier if we look at ourself as the worst. When this way we realize where we have failed and then can go on attempting to correct our flaws.

Emma and Aaron like like both of your points.
This chapter just reminds me of what Pastor Mike keeps teaching about on Sundays with speaking the truth in love. The chapter talks about having love with a pure heart, good conscience, and strong faith. And you can have love without those 3.

What really stuck out to me is that the law is for everyone especially sinners. Another would be that even though Paul was a sinner Jesus forgave him. I just think it's amazing that God could forgive after the terrible things we do.
